If I double major can I still enroll in aviaton and parachuting courses? Will this keep me from participating in a sport?

You will be given an option to request certain summer programs (won't necessarily get what you want). You will be required to participate either in a Division I sport or intramurals through your squad. No option. You WILL participate in a sport.

I know of a young lady who graduated with double major in electrical engineering and physics. She was pretty smart.

Do you think you are up for that? Plus all the commitments you will have to your squadron job, the harsh reality of the 4* year, etc?

Please note: you may want to reconsider the screen name you've got here. And for others, please choose a name which does not act as an identifier!

"SoccerKing" "FlyerWannabe" "FuturePresident" knock yourselves out, but do not use your name.

thank you.

My son double majored for 2.5 years then decided that he didn't want to take 7 classes again both semesters his senior year. He wants to be involved in leadership and other things besides doing homework all night. Yes, he had many AP classes coming in and tested out of several classes.

Also, many choices at USAFA are effected by your class rank, including your job after graduation, graduate school, pilot slots, etc. Many double majors have a tough time keeping up the GPA. Just another viewpoint.
You don't need to decide this before you are there anyway. You will take mostly the same core classes as everyone else your first year. You have time to worry about this later.

Also, as a double major, you may have to give up your "free time" summer session, so no summer break. There are 3 three week summer sessions. Two are reserved for military training and the 3rd is usually free unless there are academics to take/make up or if you are involved in another special type of activity or training.

I am a double major with a double minor. It is certainly doable. It is truly all about time management. If you can handle the course load and airmanship stuff in that respect then you can certainly do it all.

I hope you don't mind me asking but what are they?

What did you double major and double minor in? Did you have AP credit? Did you participate in aviation and parachuting courses?
