Hi everyone, unfortunately I received the dreaded TWE today and obviously, I am disappointed but I know the only thing to do now is get back into action into strengthening my application for Class of 2020. I just wanted to let everyone know how grateful I am for this forum and how much it helped me in the whole application/waiting process. To all of those who are still waiting, good luck and I'll be praying for you! Remember, it's not over until you get a TWE! :) Go Navy!! And I'll be back (terminator voice) for another roller coaster. :)

I congratulate you on your hard work thus far and in the future. I also received my TWE VERY late in the game my first time applying. Second time around, I was more determined than ever and received BFE a week after deadline this year. Keep your head up and do your best and you'll get where you want to be. PM me if you want some tips for the second time around. Good luck

Oh no, I remember telling each other the day we got a nomination and we looked forward to meeting each other. Still awaiting my fate, so sorry this happened to you. :(

Sorry about your TWE; so kind to keep praying for everyone. Maybe plan B will be wonderful!!! The coaster will be there with good company.

Sorry to hear about the TWE. Looks like one TWE on the forum today and one BFE looking at things. Maybe there is another slow trickle. nge, best of luck with Plan B. I am sure you will embrace it and do very well.

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement! Rejection obviously sucks, but it is a part of life and I know that this will make me stronger in all aspects and give me a taste of what normal college is like. I plan to do one year of NROTC, then reapply for 2020. At this point, the only thing to do is stay optimistic and view this as an opportunity rather than a failure.

@justiceforall I remember that! :) That was a great moment. I sincerely hope that you are at I-day this year. If not, no matter where you end up, you will be awesome!

DS received a TWE this morning in the mail. This has been such a long process and he has switched back and forth between USNA and USAFA numerous times. In the last couple of weeks it has been USAFA, so we are good to go. USNA is such a wonderful institution and we are so happy for those that will have the chance to become great naval officers in the future. We have been praying for God to help him make his decision, it seems HE has done just that. Good luck to the future Mids, those attending ROTC, and those who chose other academic and life decisions. Truly, anybody that has gotten this far is an extremely exceptional person.

God indeed does lead! Your DS is precisely where God wants him. That is what gives me peace through all my children's life changes. USAFA, here your DS comes!
We were told early in the process, that the process itself has a way of leading you where you are intended to be. Thank you for you kind words.

Several years ago a friend's son was in the exact same position. Appointed to USAFA and turned down to USNA. Went to USAFA and loved it -- definitely the right place for him. I'm sure it will be the same for your DS. Congrats to him!

Just got the mail.... TWE.... my son isn't home, so it hasn't been opened....my heart is broken for him...but God has a plan. All the best to those still waiting.

Yes, anyone that has gotten this far is truly exceptional. Your post sounds very similar to what my DS went through last year....wait listed for USNA until the TWE came in late May....had the AFROTC scholarship and the USAFA appointment in hand (applied for USAFA /AFROTC only because a friend did but he really wanted USNA )....is now at USAFA and loves it!! He can't imagine being anywhere else. Good luck to your DS. USAFA is really an incredible place.

Just got my TWE today ugh...I will take the recomended courses(calc, chem, phys) but should i retake the SAT 630 math 600 CR?

Must have been a mass mailing of TWEs. DS received his today also. Same form letter about class size and advice for re-applying. Disappointed to say the least but proud of him for wanting this so badly and getting this far. Now on to Alabama Honors College and School of Engineering. Best of luck to everyone still in the game.

KLS-SC…your note made me cry instantly. I hope when/if the TWE arrives, my DS is the one to pick up the mail. I will be thinking of you and please let us all know what his plan B is. I bet it will be perfect for him.

Sorry to hear about all the TWE recipients today, but agree with many on here that God indeed does have a plan for each and every one of you. One door closing is another door opening....now go through the door and make your life all it can be. Live your plan B; try again next year; but whatever you do, don't despair and NEVER GIVE UP!
