I was awarded a 4 year scholarship to a private university which was my 1st choice (5th brigade) :) unfortunately, the R&B will not be covered as I first believed it would be with an academic scholarship. I requested a transfer of the scholarship to an in-state public school (6th brigade) in the first week of March. Is there a specific date that I should know if the transfer went through by? If so, would a notification be sent in the mail or online?

Thanks

Reading the yellow papers that came with the scholarship notification... Sometime on/before May 6th. They state decisions are made by April 13th so I guess it could come sometime between those two dates.

Ekwxler, just to clarify, when you sent in your request to transfer did you do so by mail or email? Did you receive any notification that the ROTC headquarters received your request? I'm just curious because I sent in my request about a week ago and haven't heard anything.

Thanks

Would the academic scholarship cover your tuition so you could use the ROTC scholarship for R&B?

I uploaded mine on the portal and in about two days it was marked as "approved" which is just an acknowledgment that is was received. When I uploaded the doc there was a document choice for "transfer approved" or some wording like that so I guess they can post the approval on your file upload page like the original offer was. My best guess.

-Bull- makes a very good suggestion.

Larry, you uploaded yours on the actual online application? I went to try and do that and it says the portal is closed until next june when the next wave of scholarship applicants begin.

I just now went to the site and then logged in. There is a link at the bottom of the text
Select the Scholarship Application Year you would like to access
Click the 2015-2016 link. Then go to the file upload tab and select the type of document you want to upload.

I wonder how the transfer works if they approve it. Meaning... do you accept the "transfer" or is it automatic. What if you find out that it is cheaper to use the ROTC$ and school merit $ to stay in the original school.

I sent an email with my LOE attached. I didn't receive any confirmation that it was received until a little over a week later, but if you don't hear soon I would follow up with an email to confirm that the request was received.

Has anyone heard anything yet? When do you think we will find out?

I emailed CC. They responded with "we have your request, refer to page two of your instructions". Which just means they are following the published timeline of 1. decision by 4/13 and written notification by 5/6 (I think those were the dates on the yellow papers.

I think we "could" get a notification before May 6th. I also think we could hear after May 6th.

Speculation - The May 6th target could have something to do with the 3rd board winners getting a 30 day time frame to accept the offer and then after that CC can figure out the possibility of transfers. It is most likely that any attempt to figure anything out by us is just silly. I haven't seen anyone post that they have gotten a transfer (this season) but then again not everyone is on this forum.

Good luck with your transfer.

Making sure DS has everything in order. He was "transfer option" at his first school choice last night and he is requesting transfer to accepted school.

Is this the correct scholarship transfer request address:
Department of Army
HQ US ARMY Cadet Command
G2 Incentives Division/690
1307 Third Avenue
Fort Knox, KY 40121-2725

Also, I notice some people posted that they uploaded request. Has this worked for folks?
Many thanks in advance!

I just sent my request to Cadet Command... Am I supposed to send it somewhere else too? Does anyone know?

Sorry if I'm confusing people. DS has been texting me at work and it sounds like the yellow papers just to send to Cadet Command at the address I posted, but I've been reading that some folks emailed and/or uploaded request. I'm
just trying to make sure he did the right address when he sent documents and the right thing because after I read forums-I told him to email request too.
It also seems like people uploaded stuff too on the forum.

My questions, is the above address correct?
Does he need to upload documents (letter, acceotance, rejection to school choice)?
Did he need to Email too?
Any help from someone who has completed this request successfully is SO much appreciated!!!

Hi Rockats

1. What do you mean by "He was "transfer option" at his first school choice last night ..." Is that a term you have "coined" or is that an actual status from Cadet Command" Never seen that on here before (lots of stuff I haven't seen).

2. The address on MY white paper to "select" which school I was accepting the scholarship to was/is:

The US Army ROTC Scholarship
U.S. Army Cadet Command
204 1st Calvary Regt Rd, Bldg 1002
Fort Knox, KY 40121-5123

3. To upload your college acceptance letter and transfer request you just use the same method as when you uploaded your other scholarship documents. Log in to the scholarship site and go to the FILE UPLOAD tab. Select the document type and upload it. You may see your transfer request in the file upload tab already (I think they scan docs mailed and then load them into the system.

Send them an email to see if they got it. They got back to me in a day or so.

Good Luck

" transfer option"
is Cornell lingo-I've never heard of it before either. He was denied admission this year but offered " transfer option" which has certain requirements-so now since he can't use his first choice AROTC scholarship at Cornell this year as a freshman he needs to transfer request cadet command so he can use scholarship, if allowed. If transfer request is denied, he'll attend a collegr freshman year as a civilian and transfer to Cornell (pending grades in stem classes etc) as a civilian as a sophomore and try to access a campus scholarship. He wants to serve and that's the priority, but unfortunately he's in a situation where he can't use the Cornell 4 year AROTC that he selected as choice. Fortunately, he's got some great cuvilian options if AROTC doesn't work out.

Thanks for the infornation. I have no idea why he has yellow papers
and that address. He's got the download part down. Thanks for the help with that!
