Good morning everyone,

Since DS signed and accepted his appointment to KP this weekend, we are (well mostly me) doing intensive research about what need to be done for the I-day.

One item that is important to know is that each candidate needs to report in with TWIC card for the I-day.

Here‟s the website to pre-enroll and schedule an appointment and I highly recommend this procedure so you have time to get the TWIC before Indoc: http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/twic/index.shtm, the fee is $128.00

DS scheduled and appointment and going there today, on the website it says 10-12 weeks delay in issuing the card.

So heads up for other excited parents/future midshipmen’s.

I just renewed mine. I received my new card in the mail within about a week despite the tech warning me about the 10-12 weeks.

Fingers crossed, I've read posts from last year's candidates, that many didn't had their TWIC for the INOC day...
Hopefully will go fast and painless for all this year :)

They mailed yours? I had to go in and pick my renewal (actually, extension, but that is another deal) up. . . .

We have had reports that incoming 2019 Plebe Canididates with new TWIC card requests, are able to recieve them in the mail.
This certainly was NOT the case even a year ago. This is good news for many, as for us, the trip to a TWIC office was a four hour drive.

My understanding is that the mailing of TWIC Cards is fairly new. I only just did mine the end of February.

Here is our update:

DS went down there Monday afternoon, was told the TWIC card will arrive by mail 3-4 weeks, so 17TexasMom, you are correct.
