Man reported missing at sea for 66 days reunites with family

I have a problem with a guy on a capsized hull for 66 Days. If it is true more power to him. Go CG

I'm not buying it.

You don't spend 2 months lost at sea and then look healthier when rescued than you did when you left.

No sunburn?

Well....he wasn't adrift on a raft, he was in his disabled sailboat so he could keep out of the sun. He did say he had some provisions on board that lasted a while and probably had many items that could collect rain water. Plus anyone knows how easy it is to catch fish by trolling dirty laundry. At least that's his story and he's sticking to it.

To be honest, I tend to agree with you.

He claimed to lose 50lbs while adrift, I would sure love to see a picture of him before he went out. I would think you would see quite a difference.

Many keelboats are self-righting if the sheets can be uncleated or cut. Even turtled boats.

LITS will back me up on this.

questions, including (if I recall the news reports correctly) leaving without giving anyone a float plan.
Seems like he wanted to be 'lost' for awhile.

Still can't believe it for sixty six days on a pitch sailboat and living on the Hull is a stretch.

Not as abnormal as you'd think.

And he dove into the overturned hull (not reported) to get rations and caught fish to eat without gear and drank rainwater for sixty six days????
