Plebe Summer Question

I know it is recommended that plebes bring broken in running shoes, but I remember seeing somewhere on the forums that colorful/bright running shoes are not allowed. Is this true?

Just making sure before I go out and buy a pair.
 
HIGHLY recommended you don't have something that will make you stand out. Solid white or black shoes will do
 
I went through plebe summer last year and not much concern was generally given to what color shoes you had (although I wouldn't go out and by bright solid neon shoes, if you can avoid it). It is more important that they are solid running shoes that will help prevent injuries.

Shoes aside, this excellent general advice for just about everything else in Plebe Summer. Don't do anything to stand out.
 
Take a look at Class of 2018 Plebe summer video and you'll see pretty much every color of running shoes. Understand the recommendation above and it makes sense not to get the hot pink, fluorescent yellow, or Asics "Lite show" but realistically, I don't think solid white or solid black running shoes exist in 2015. ;-)
 
Last year we read "all white" shoes--they don't exist! I spent a fortune getting a custom made pair! Then turned out didn't need them to be "all white"! Everyone else's advice is spot on. Don't do anything that makes you stand out!

Detailers will care a lot more about injuries and the medical chits they have to process for each injury. Buy good quality shoes that will protect from shin splints and the like for the duration of the summer. Do not worry about the color.

Since my Mid is a man of few words, here is some advice from the a current Mid from a couple years back when DW was a little panicked over same question. If only I could have found the running shoes with the little wings on back for DS :)
