Thoughts, comments? Apparently they are scratching the "Army Black Knights" name for athletic teams, and switching back to "Cadets." Like the article says, I don't care if they rename them the Butterflies, as long as we beat Navy in every single competition possible.

They'll likely go with Athena's helmet as the centerpiece of the logo.

I like black knights because it feels like it is more related to the entire army and not just cadets.

Man, just when I was getting used to the 'new' black knights logo. Well, maybe all my old Army 'A' stuff with the kicking mule will soon be back in vogue again!

You'll find out soon enough that the Army and WP are only distantly related. No one in the Army writ large identifies with "black knights." It was a stupid choice to begin with. I'm glad it's going away.

Conspiracy Theory: Cadets is more gender neutral than Black Knights.

Black Knights is just too old school Sir Walter Scott chivalry.

Well, they called the women's teams the Lady Knights so I don't think that's it.

Cadets is more congruent with Midshipmen, the Navy team name. I think that's a positive. I'd rather see the "Cadets beat the Midshipmen" than the "Black Knights beat the Midshipmen."

But again, whatever it takes to diminish Navy on any and all playing fields.

Or how Navy feels about West Point in academics, leadership, national prestige, Rhodes Scholars, Marshall Scholars, Truman Scholars, college rankings, alumni credentials...

HAHAHA!, uh, not at all! but it is an OK back-up school, however, if it helps ya sleep at night to think that then good.

I can't help reality, pal. You guys are little brother. Always will be. It's the way of the world. Somebody has to finish second. At least you've (mostly) got Air Force beat.

Oh my mistake. I was referring to the 21st Century, present times...not when Eisenhower was President and General Motors ruled the world. I stand corrected.
