Okay I have not received an email back from West Point on my issue so I will ask you. Here is my scenario, I take my final exam of the year on the 21st of May. Then, I leave for Boys' State on the 24th and complete it on the 30th. I have been selected for SLE week one and we check in on the 30th. Boys' State ends at noon on that day and with a direct flight, my family and I believe I can be on the campus by 5 PM. Is this considered late for check-in? Would it be a big deal or would they like that I tried that hard to be there? If they knew I'd be late, would that help my cause? I cannot request a session change due to NASS the following week. Personally, I just wish to serve, but I do lean towards Navy. So the question is would they let me do it and would it be worth it to go three weeks away from home when USMA is not even my number one?

See if you can leave boys state early as well. Some people actually change their minds when they go to SLE about what academy they want if any so it's worth it. Depending on your district you may not get a nomination to the academy you want so it's always nice to see other academies.

They explicitly stated I am not able to leave early for service academy programs.

Forgot that was one of the rules. Once you get there you will see that there is a bunch of people that want to the academy. I would go as far as to say 1 out of 5 want to go to some sort of academy.

My case is a bit different because I got caught at the airport by like, tornadoes in the area on my way to USAFA summer seminar. We got in around five as well and they just picked us up. A little late but nothing really happened that day besides inprocessing anyways (which we got.)

I literally had the same problem. I got accepted to SLE this year and also selected for Boy's State (AZ). I called Boy's state and they allowed me to leave one day early. They understood that SLE was just as important so they were cool with it. But the rules say that we are not allowed to leave early whatsoever. Make sure you call them and encourage them in a way lol
