AFROTC Disenrollment (Need Advice)

Hello so I currently have a bit of a problem I was hoping someone could help me with.

Until a couple days ago I was a non-contracted AS200 AFROTC Cadet with an EA slot for Field Training this summer.
I was Disenrolled from the program for "Not meeting Air Force academic standards"
Basically I withdrew from a class which caused me to drop below the 12 credit hour mark and my Detachment commander dropped me for it.
I understand that I screwed up but right now I am just trying to find out what options I have.
I know I have more options for commission other than ROTC and I am looking into those but what I want from this post is advice for ROTC.

What I was hoping someone could help me with is if they know if it's possible to get back into ROTC after a certain amount of time or if I could apply to other Detachments.

Any advice you could provide would be really helpful.

Basically you will have to ask your detachment commander for a recommendation for reinstatement. Even if you attempt to join another detachment they will ask your previous commander whether or not they believe you can still follow the path to become an officer. Your current detachment commander has your fate in their hands no matter where you go. In my detachment many who left for reasons like you have attempted to be reinstated but none ever succeeded. When you joined this program you were expected to live up to the expectations of the detachment commander. Dropping a course and going under 12 credits is a double whammy as you get 2 conditionals for the price of one academic event. If you have sought advice from your CoC you would have known the consequences of doing this and now you are paying the price.

+1 Alpha.

The problem is because they disenrolled you for not meeting academic standards, your SFT/EA slot was pulled. By the time you go through the waiver process, it will probably mean no SFT, which now places you into the 500 level.
~ Dropping that class without talking to the cadre 1st might hurt your chances next year because it appears you didn't tell the CoC before dropping this year. Basically a trust issue.

The 3rd whammy might be on the table. Can you still graduate on time? Below 12 credit hours is insanely low.
~ Below 12, would mean you were at 15, including the 1 credit hour of ROTC you were taking no more more than 14 credits for college.
~To make up that drop, at least 1 semester will need to be 18. That is true 18.
~ I get some courses are more difficult, but I also know that most colleges will have pre reqs. Did you just delay your graduation by one semester, meaning the earliest could be Aug or Dec?

I also agree with Alpha, the CoC at the new detachment will talk to your old CoC. Chances are the dropping below 12 credits may mean the new CoC will not support you for SFT.
~ Again, if you transfer does graduation date change?

I wish you the very best of luck. I hope it all works out, but be prepared to fight for yourself with a strong defense of why you went under 12.
~ Family issues (illness), had to work a job 20+ hrs. a week to pay for college, while juggling classes.
~~ Sorry, but dropping a class because you knew you were getting to take a hit on your cgpa is probably not going to float if that is the only reason you dropped the class.
~~~ Not telling your academic advisor at your det. probably hurt the most, because they were blindsided. Their hands became tied the minute you dropped under 12 credits.
Thank you both for your responses, and let me clarify some things
At the time, withdrawing from that class was not going to have any effect on my graduation date. I had discussed the issue with Cadre before I dropped the class and it seemed like they were going to let me do it, but then after I had already withdrawn they decided to drop me from the program.
I know I have a lot of work ahead of me to prove that I am worthy of a commission. I plan to spend the next year or so getting me grades and my academics back up because I know that if I will ever be let back into ROTC that it won't be anytime soon and I will have to enter as an AS500.
At that at that point I may have to delay me degree on purpose or find some other way to make college last longer in order to make ROTC work.
I understand that ROTC is at this point a long shot but because OTS is so competitive if there is any chance at all I am still better off with ROTC even if it takes a while. So I really just wanted to know if being disenrolled from ROTC was a lifetime ban or not.
Thanks again for the help
Seemed like and approved are clearly two different things. I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope you're successful in your endeavors to commission.
flyingknight, I'd say work hard, keep your GPA up, take enough classes to [try to] remain in your expected graduation timeframe, and stay in contact with your NCO (if applicable)! To my knowledge, if your NCO (and all Cadre) really likes you and you show that you are dedicated to working hard to never have this happen again, their opinion and input could benefit you in your attempts to reactivate. Good luck!
Mylife,
You are new here (less than 10 posts), thus you cannot PM yet, hence why I am saying it publicly. It has less to do with you, but more to do with new posters like you.
I say this with kindness, but pulling up a post that is over 15 months old and the OP only has 2 posts total is not going to impact them since they probably left the building. AKA flyingknight's issue was resolved long ago.
~ Not saying your post was not great guidance for other posters/lurkers, just saying flyingknight's issue was resolved almost a yr ago.
I do have issue with one of your statements.
~ The if the Cadre supports/respects you. The fact and reality is when it comes to disenrollment it is HQ AFROTC that makes the final decision. Yes, the support matters, BUT in reality it is a domino effect. HQ ADAF MPC knows how many O1s they need for every commissioning group. If MPC has enough, than HQ AFROTC will place that into their equation for disenrollment. The cadre can support, but if HQ AFROTC says they have enough to commission according to ADAF MPC than it is basically over, regardless of how much support you have from the cadre.
~~ The military is like any corporation. They have X amount of jobs for Y amount of people.
I wish you great success in AFROTC.
