Falcon Foundation?

DS called his admissions counselor and was told he was not being considered for Falcon Scholarship. He will be attending NWP as free agent. If you haven't heard might be worth a call to find out where you stand.

Best of Luck

I was offered a Falcon Foundation Scholarship today, 4/24.
I respectfully declined, so hopefully one of you guys waiting will get it.
I am going to USMA.

My daughter self-prepped at NWP in 2013, and is now in the AFA class of 2018. NWP is an amazing place. Listen to Mr. and Mrs. Durbeck. They know what they are talking about! My daughter, after completing NWP, felt that for her it was a blessing to take the year rather than go directly to AFA.

NWP is an amazing experience, Mr. and Mrs. D are great people who know what they are talking about. I was NWP 2014 as a Falcon, and now USAFA class of 2019. But also don't give up hope of a Falcon scholarship, I didn't received mine until June of 2014.

My DD was just offered a Falcon Foundation Scholarship this morning! She is so happy (and so am I). The letter from admissions states: "Although you did not receive an appointment to the USAF Academy Class of 2019, you have a very good record of accomplishment. You are qualified to receive a prestigious Falcon Foundation Scholarship to attend a special Academy preparatory program for the Class of 2020. Virtually all who successfully complete this program are admitted to the Air Force Academy."

Congrats to your daughter! Let me know if you have any questions about reapplying or the FF year. I'll always recommend NWP, but any of the schools will be a great experience. :)

HAP1983, congratulations on the Falcon Foundation Scholarship! My DS is a Falcon at MMI this year and has had a great experience.

I was offered a Falcon Foundation scholarship this morning. I do not know what to do. I have already accepted at CSULB, have a Type 7 scholarship, and was planning on doing AFROTC at Loyola Marymount University.

PM me if you want. I was in a similar situation a few years ago.

There was a thread started by a parent that closely addresses your question you should read through it. There situation was the AFA-Prep itself but Falcon Foundation would be considered the same in my book. If fact one of the biggest contributors Flieger class of 83 did FF back in the day.

I know that many people consider NWP as their first choice, and I did the same thing. However, I strongly encourage recipients of the Falcon Foundation Scholarship to consider all of their options, and make the best choice for YOU. The best option for me was Marion Military Institute for several reasons, however I won't impose my reasoning on anyone here. If you are still in the decision making process and would like to know more about MMI firsthand, feel free to PM me anytime.

^agree with haley 100%. I'd suggest calling a few of the schools and getting a feel for what you want in your school. Regardless of where you choose, you'll be a year older and more focused by the time you get here.

Congratulations amak22!! If the AFA is what you want, I'd jump at this opportunity!

I was offered a Falcon Foundation Scholarship this morning and am a bit unsure of accepting or not. Is appointment likely guaranteed for next year? NWP seems like the best option..

Did any of you that have recieved the FF scholarship not have a nomination this time around?
