Out in San Diego for a conference and walked by the US Coast Guard Station in San Diego. Sweet!

Awesome weather, awesome spot.

And close to Anthony's Fish Grotto restaurant - a favorite - particularly when you can sit outside and eat!

Grunt, if you are still there, go to the Pt. Loma Seafood Market and have a crab sandwich on sourdough. It's $15 and the best seafood in town AND you can eat outside too and watch the real fishing boats. A little cocktail sauce is a nice condiment too. If you go to Coronado, have a meal at The Bistro on Orange Ave. It is absolutely tiny and it is the town's best kept secret.

Awesome! Yes, still here. Ate at Miguel 's Cocina on Coronado last night. It was fantastic. We will definitely try your recommendations. Thanks!

Grunt; two things...You can eat outside 9 months of the year. And you might gain weight. Also great Mexican food. Yes San Diego is sweet.

I was stationed at Camp Pendleton so I know about the weather. Here as a businessman at a conference on an expense account... ah the joys of civilian life!

Depending on how generous that account is I recommend Juniper & Ivy or Searsucker for a dinner.

Both are run by Top Chef chefs who did well (Richard Blais for J&I and Brian Malarkey for Searsucker). They are both fantastic!

Considered the Searsucker but ended up at Greystone - which was excellent.

Always liked USCG Station Newport RI. Thought it was a great place to be stationed. Always pass it out to Breton's Reef to have a have a picnic and do some Kite Flying. Del Coronado Hotel was one of my favorite places for conferences right down from the SEAL training and a beautiful beach.

Yea, always seemed like extra cruel punishment to have a deluxe hotel right next to the seal training facilities.

San Diego is nice. New York City has some nice views. I took this photo of a Coast Guard Ship this morning walking to work.
