So I'm a little confused. On my candidate portal it says "Request for Academic Information" form received because I sent it to my guidance counselor. At first it said pending, but now it says received. Underneath it it says that they have received 0 of my high school transcripts. Is the request for academic information West Point asking my guidance counselor for my transcript, and is it sent through there? Or do I still need to ask? And approximately how long do transcripts take to be received by West Point? I know my SAT scores took about 3 weeks. Thanks!

I am a bit confused. Does your portal still read "initial evaluation pending" within the "overview" tab. I ask this because I can't find anything in my portal that asks for my transcripts.

I cant seem to start a conversation either. I dont know if it is something that only certain people can do or if I cant seem to figure out how to do it haha

Well I didn't really want to say this on an open thread for fear of sounding cocky, but I'm a recruited athlete so my application opened earlier than normal. I thought the regular applications opened today though?

They haven't opened yet. It said July 1st was the earliest day, not the only day that it could open. Also, you must make 5 posts before you can have a private conversation.

The evaluation process started today. so depending on when you got your pre-candidate application/questionnaire in it will open up at certain times after they evaluate it, that is my guess at least.

I submitted my pre-candidate questionnaire months ago and my application is not open yet. I doubt the reason we are waiting is because our pre-candidate questionnaires have not been evaluated yet.

Admissions Officers and staff have been focused on the class that just entered. Even if you submitted your questionnaire months ago, it might now have been evaluated yet.

The personnel who ran R Day in processing in Thayer Hall on Monday are the same personnel who do the file management.

Also, Admissions Regional Commanders (RCs) change over official duties with their replacements around this time as well. You might have a brand new regional commander who has a list of 300 candidates questionnaires he/she has to review.

Good luck to everyone. Complete your file early. Continue to test unless you have a perfect score.

Email your RC or admissions volunteer directly if you have a question about your status. Calling works too, but know that the RC probably has a blackberry or the ability to review emails at all hours of the day while her/his voice mail is in his office.

Yeah mine still says evaluation pending. What are your sat or act scores , and grades on transcript?

Mine got in! It's just your counselor filling out stuff on your school. So like your grading scale, stuff like that. General stuff about your school.

Yeah but before what are your sat scores? I know for fact sat scores have some part to do in the portal opening

No no, the portal is open for me already. I have everything done except my CFA and my DodMERB. I'm just waiting to be notified for DodMERB hopefully soon, and I'm taking the CFA sometime soon.

The Request for Academic Information does NOT ask your counselor for transcripts. You have to request your transcripts separately on your own (some schools charge for transcripts, especially after a certain number of requests). It does cover a lot of information that may or may not be on your transcript (class rank, school profile information, weighted/unweighted system, scale, etc).

For the rising seniors - send your 6 semester transcripts now. You must send your 7 semester transcripts before the file completion deadline, so even if you think you are done and qualified, send them. West Point MIGHT send you a reminder about this, but they will not ask your counselor for you. The requirement is in your instructions for applicants PDF that you should/will have access to on your portal. It is probably the first thing you should read, before asking a question here, to your FFR, or to your RC.

I'm taking about before July 1st, what does West Point use to open your portal. Mine hasn't opened yet. It probably is because of my transcript. My guidance counselor may have mailed instead of emailed it to the women in charge of the northeast.

@EVDfootball you put SAT scores in the 1400s on another page and said red flag (assuming that is all three parts). I wouldn't open your application with scores that low (less than 500 per section) since you wouldn't qualify academically, and I especially wouldn't open up your file early.

Get your test scores up. That means before your file is likely to open (you will see initial evaluation pending and/or closed since your RC might close it), you need to take the SAT or ACT, so you are reasonably looking at October before you get scores in there that will trigger opening your file.

That can't possibly be a right for opening up the initial evaluation because I had a SAT of 2200+ and they still haven't opened up my initial evaluation as well. Granted I just had my counselor submit my transcript...
