I'm really worried about not getting into and academy because of my grades (One C+, 5 A's and 1 B) but now i'm on varsity track so i'm really starting to worry for my grades. What should my GPA be to at least be considered and what should a competitive GPA be?

Quit worrying and DO something about it. Apply anyway, let them review your record and evaluate your potential. Remember that your academic record is only important to the admissions folks because it helps predict your potential in the difficult academics at the academy.

Do better. Study, work with others, find new methods to review.

There is no easy answer to the GPA question. It will differ depending on each candidate's evaluated potential in the other areas.
 
Since you mentioned you are a freshman in h.s., it is way to early to worry about whether or not you might get an appointment to an Academy. Enjoy your time in high school. Do things you: 1) Enjoy, 2) Think you can excel at or 3) Can contribute to your school due to your skills and abilities because you want to do them, not because you think it will look good on your college application. One day you may apply to an academy or your interests in the next 4 years might change. If you are able to excel at the things you do, you will be much better off in the long run regardless of where you eventually go to college.

There is no minimum GPA. They don't look at it. They look at your class rank, SAT/ACT scores and your transcript. One your transcript they look at the classes you took, the level of those classes and how well you performed.

West Point is a very selective college and the admissions expectations are not unlike other very selective colleges. You are competing against the 'cream of the crop' for an appointment.
If you are having trouble juggling academics and track then see a teacher or counselor and get some help with your time management skills - this will help you regardless where you eventually apply.
 
my school doesn't have class rank though, so would they look at anything else?
