Hi,
The other day, I was talking books with a friend and recalled a particular series about a man in the army and his experiences. It is fiction and written a while ago. The last time I read one was over 15 years ago. I am hoping someone else may recall the name of the author and/or the series of these books.
The main character was a man and the books followed his career advancement in the army.
I believe he was at one point a tank commander.
One of the books dealt with the army being called in to fight the national guard of a mid-western state.
(That is the story line I remembered the best.)
Eventually his son became part of the story lines and joined the army as well.
His wife was a journalist or lawyer I think (non-military profession).
Does anyone recall any of this? It is driving me nutty trying to remember!
Thank you in advance.
