Hello, I am just curious, how much does completing one's application early help? That includes DODMERB exams? Thanks for the help.

If you complete your application early, it gets seen more. Military is looking for Leaders who know what to put first, this is your first chance to CLEARLY DEMONSTRATE your ability to do just that.

It can also put you in better shape to get a nomination. Many Congressional reps don't want to waste a nomination on someone who is not qualified - or who has not yet finished the application.

Early application gives you opportunity to be approved for Dodmerb if academy or ROTC is interested. DS got nomination because he was medically cleared IMO.

He put plenty of leg work forward and did his best.

Completing the application early is HUGE. HUGE. Do not procrastinate on this.
Since I'm finished

I just found out yesterday that I am medically qualified for West Point. All I can do now is update my file to make it more competitive. Thanks again for your response.

How did you find out so quickly? Have you already gone to the medical and optometry exams?

Yes, my exams were received by DODMERB on August 4 and reviewed the next day.
