Hey guys and gals :)

I just got my "New Student Orientation" email which lists everything we need to bring (obviously). It lists that we should know our pant size. However, I don't know if I should rely on my waist or hips size for my slacks. My waist is 27in and my hips are 35in. I'm thinking I should go with misses in a regular size as I am 5 ft 5. So which should I rely on?

Thanks

If it is for ACU's, the pants are S, M, L etc and then short, reg, long etc. At my son's school, and I am assuming across the board, there are not separate men's and women's sizing. Not sure about the PT shorts - whether or not there are women's and men's sizes.

It's for the blues. But thank you for that info! It makes that a little easier :) for the others

My son went to the unit over the summer (during orientation week) and was measured. He's a challenging fit and even with her doing the measuring, there was a lot of taylor-ing that needed to be done. I would send measurements if you can and do your best guess. They will get you stuff that fits. No worries. You have to look sharp in the uniform so one way or another, they'll make it work.

Good luck!

Just so you know the difference between misses and juniors is nothing to do with height. It has to do with hip and bust measurements. If you notice juniors run by odd numbers, misses run by even numbers. The only time height matters is if you are under 5'4 because that is considered petite.

Oh no I mean choosing between misses and women's. I didn't know that about the bust though. It only said misses are 2 inches smaller in the hips. Thank you :)

Will do :). I'll be at the Uni today so may stop by the det. and ask them. Thank you :)

If this is for Air Force blues trousers, go by your true waist as those trousers have a traditional high rise that are worn at the waist near the naval. If this is for Army blues trousers, they have a lower rise and are worn closer to the hips.

It's Air Force, so that helps a lot. Thank you!
