Chances of getting Army ROTC scholarship

hi everyone,
I'm interested in getting an Army ROTC scholarship. I was wondering if any of you had advice for me and what my chances are. Ill be entering my senior year. I'm looking to study Arabic & Spanish in college- maybe Mandarin.

Unweighted GPA: 3.4ish
95% AP & Honors classes
SAT: CR- 600, math: 470
-I'm taking the ACT and I should get atleast a 25 based on my practice one.
Leadership postions in 4 clubs.
Intermueral & club level soccer
Physically in shape
I have a lot of volunteer hours
Paid job
Volunteer fire fighter

Also, I was wondering if I could summit my application, and as I got better SAT/ACT scores and more leadership positions in the fall, I could add onto the application. Is that possible?

In terms of extracurriculars you look good, however you should definitely invest time into raising your math SAT score.

Yes you can update your test scores for the application.

the standard answers to your question is
1) no one here can tell you for sure.
2) you'll only know if you apply
3) if you don't get the national, you can still get a campus based scholarship

Did you letter/captain any sports? If not, if I were you I would try hard to do so. Also, I would break out an SAT study guide or two to really up that Math score you've got. Everything else looks good from what you've listed

Do you have your Pro Board Firefighter 1? If not, I'd strongly recommend going for it before you start college; where I'm going it's gonna be near-impossible to get to the local Fire Academy unless I get up at like zero dark thirty every day.

I can't agree more.

1. It is not uncommon for SA candidates to apply for the scholarship as plan B. The SA and ROTC boards do not talk regarding selection.

2. Additionally, there are many candidates that will apply to all 3 branches for a ROTC scholarship. You maybe competing also against that kid applying for an AFROTC or NROTC scholarship or both. Just like the SA and ROTC boards do not talk, neither do the ROTC branches.

You need to apply, but just remember that the minority of all cadets/mids in ROTC receive a scholarship. You can be a cadet/mid without a scholarship. I would add that if you need the scholarship to attend your dream college choice, please rethink that college choice. Many kids decide during their 1st year that being ROTC is not for them. If you can only attend because you need the scholarship, than you may regret it later on.
