Hello all, I'm a USNA applicant and I'm just finishing off my application. All I have left is the CFA. I, however, go to a school where there is no sports or other extracurricular activities. It's an early college high school. I did a practice CFA with my administrator:
Push-ups:45
Pull-up:7
Sit-ups: 65
Mile: 7:53
BB throw: 57ft
Shuttle-run: 9.60

I'm just asking if these are good scores. For Naval academy? And for a person that hasn't done sports?

Push-ups:45 - This can be increased simply by doing them everyday, you can be up to 65+ in two weeks, I bet!
Pull-up:7 - not bad at all !
Sit-ups: 65 - This can be increased simply by doing them everyday, you can be up to 80 to 85+ in two weeks, I bet!
Mile: 7:53 - Try to get nearer to 7 minutes or less, you need to run EVERYDAY to decrease your times!
BB throw: 57ft - Watch the Basketball throwing video and throw it like a grenade and you will get near 67 ft
Shuttle-run: 9.60 -
It works, IMHO, especially if your a big guy

Thanks the advice does help. I can mainly do the upper body portions, I've been getting really bad shin splints though.

Right after boot when I arrived at my first duty station I had HORRIBLE shin splints from RTC. No excuses, it's all pain management, as a SWCC rerate that I workout with explains.

Do a google search about shin splint prevention. There are some things you can do daily to help prevent these going forward and ease the pain. Ice them and some exercises to do prior to running. Pretty simple steps that can help. If you are getting them now, take the steps to help yourself prior to Plebe Summer
