I have read numerous threads for other academies about what to bring to summer training.. I'm sure this question has been answered before on this thread also.. However, I am going to ask again..

What should I bring to plebe summer?
Like the things that they don't TELL you to bring but it'd be WISE to bring or at least have it shipped to...

Especially suggestions for females.. What to bring and what NOT to bring..

What do they TELL you to bring on the list anyhow?

When you receive all the information from USNA there should be information about what to bring. anything not on the list you should not bring. good luck

Agreed. Don't bring anything NOT on the list.

You'll get a list of things to bring. And when they process the plebes, they take it ALL away. You need nothing at all. They provide every single solitary thing the plebes will need. No joke.

I talked to a couple plebes a few weeks ago, and they said to bring as close to nothing as you possibly can. I don't remember what they said they brought, but they said that most of the stuff on the list, you won't need right away, and it would be best to have your parents ship out whatever you really do need.

Don't bring anything with you, unless you wear glasses and then bring those glasses in the lucky case your BCGs didnt come yet.

Have your parents send you immediatly a box of things, the day of I-Day in fact, have them express overnight mail it. It's really great when on the third day you are there you already have a package. Make sure you get shout-wipes, those are a lifesaver. Also, Febrezze, food, and pictures. For food, nothing that will melt, aka no chocolate.

But you can literally walk in naked and by the end of I-day you will have everything you need.

The only thing I remember for my DD was extra of her preferred brand of tampons or feminine napkins. You're never sure of what the MidStore will have.

Ditto on advice above. For women, remember "civilian clothes" also includes non-regulation hair accessories (all will be explained about what's reg and non-reg), and don't bother with hair product and dress-to-impress make-up either. The Mid Store has both salon and drugstore hair products at the low, no-tax military exchange prices.
For care packages, power bars and fruit leathers are always good. Great idea to send a package for early arrival.

Like everyone else is telling you, only bring the things on the list. One of the important things on the list is a pair of broken in running shoes. The report packet will tell you they should be predominately white, but get a pair that is comfortable for you. You will want to get them several weeks before I day and do a lot of running in them. You will use those for PEP (Physical Excellence Program) in the mornings.

Another good suggestion my daughter heard, was to make sure you have 6 properly fitted white sports bras. There may be a chance they do not have your size when you go through the gear issue and you will really need them. My daughter was ok with the ones she was issued, but a friend of hers needed to use the ones she brought until the Academy was able to get her size.
