Hello,

Yesterday I received a Letter of Encouragement (LOE) on my candidate portal.

How rare is it to receive an LOE?

I know it is not an LOA, so what exactly does this mean? Can I send copies to my MOCs? Basically, how good is it that I received it and where do I go from here?

Thanks for your help.

There are tons of threads on this including another from today. It means West Point sees you as competitive and wants to encourage you to complete the application. I believe it also means you are eligible for an over night visit. It's an encouraging sign, but far from the finish line.

Or another way to look at it is that it's is a warning letter that the candidate hasn't made accceptabel progress on his or her application.

My application has been complete for about a month and I am medically qualified. Waiting on nomination interviews.

When my DD received her LOA she was encouraged by posters on this topic as well as her field interviewer to forward it the MOC's.
Send it on before the MOC interview. Good luck!

Good for you. If so, in your case it's a recuritment tool to keep you interested at West Point.
