When are the Brigades going to release scholarship awards to the campus based cadets?

These awards, if they have any available can come at anytime. A few cadets may receive awards during the first semester, some at during the second semester, and some may get them the sometime next year. There really isn't a set time frame for when the campus based scholarships are given or if any will be given at all. I am in reference to Army ROTC, other service operate differently.

My DS MSI year received a campus based scholarship in November of his first semester and contracted first week of December. He was the third 4 yr recipient that year the other two received theirs in October of the first semester. Tuition was paid retroactively but the stipend was not.

Our Brigade is not expecting to ask for names until Spring semester. Timing is different every year, and each Brigade may do things a little differently, and what happened in previous years is no indicator of what will happen this year.

And, as I always say...What did your cadre tell you when you asked them???

Clarkson- Am I correct that Albany, Sienna, and RPI are in the 2nd Brigade? I'm still trying to get a grasp on the organizational aspect.

Not sure if this is still accurate. Clarkson can confirm or correct.

Brigades

Map of the Army ROTC Brigades
ROTC is composed of eight brigades which command 273 ROTC units, referred to as battalions (though these units are typically much smaller than regular army battalions.) The brigades command ROTC units throughout different regions of the country.

That looks about right (didn't know 2nd Brigade covered Europe). In the Albany area Sienna is the host school, and covers UAlbany and RPI.

Typically each school has their own money for scholarships that they give out depending on how much they have will determine the time factor. For example my school had a lot of people on scholarship who failed their urinalysis fo doing cocaine and weed so because if this the had alot of scholarships that weren't being used and because so many people git kicked out they had to fill their contracts fast.

This statement just begs the question.......where in the heck do you attend school?

And for the record, the battalion doesn't make the final decision, that's up to the brigade.

I won't say a specific school, but it is in California

Hah! Well that really narrows it down!
But two schools do come to mind...and only one has ROTC.

The old commanding officer of my njrotc unit from the highschool school year of 2014-2015, graduated high school on may 22, 2015, and received a nrotc campus based scholarship the next day to savannah state in GA.
