Hey guys. Just took the CFA this morning. My scores are as follows. Can anyone guess if I will pass? I know the push-ups are low. Also, I am male

BB throw 65 ft
Pull-ups 8
Shuttle run 9.2 sec
Sit up 61
Push-up 42
Mile 5:52

Thanks!

Looks pretty good except for push ups. I would feel pretty comfortable predicting you passed if those were at 50 or 55. Has this score been submitted? You might want to train some more. A two week intensive plan could help you gain quite a few reps. Still maybe being pretty good on other areas will get you an overall passing score.

On the USNA PRT you would fail the push-ups and curl-ups, which means you would fail the entire thing. Your run is good. You need to shoot for about the 80% mark, give or take a few (84 curl-ups, 86 push-ups). Even if we assumed you did the minimums on push-ups and curl-ups, your overall score would be under 70. The Admissions Board can look at CFA and if they do, you want them to feel that the PRT will be a "non-issue" for you. I highly recommend improving you push-ups and curl-ups.

Here are my stats so far:
Mile: 7:00 (I have to work on this)
BBALL: 60ish
Situps : 53 (I have to work on this)
Shuttle: 8.5
Pushups: 70
Pullups: 13

I want to try to get my mile down to 6:00 by November 20th. Tips?

BBall: 84
Pullups: 15
Shuttle: 7.88
Pushups: 75
Situps: 95
Mile: 5:45

@strakerak I run cross country and we have kids who come out just to train with us. Running will definitely help get the mile time down especially if you talk to the coach about your goal.

It's impossible to do 86 push-ups on the CFA since 75 push-ups is the max.

He is referring to the PRT frenzy. I think he's trying to suggest that scores beyond the CFA are important too. We'll take the CFA once or twice, but we'll be taking the PRT many more times than that. Getting into the academy isn't helpful if you cannot succeed at the academy

jculligan, based on all my reading, Your OVERALL score is above average and You Pass:

BB throw 65 ft [right at the Mean]
Pull-ups 8 [good]
Shuttle run 9.2 sec [Anything under 10 secs is gOOD]
Mile 5:52 [Anything under 6 mins is Excellent]

Now, get going and finish the rest of the Application ASAP.

frenzymando,

You are right, 75 is the max push-ups for males, so that is all you can do (and you should not do more).

Hey guys. Just retook the CFA one more time. Here are my new scores. Hopefully they are passing now. Let me know what you think. Thanks for the help!

BB throw 62 ft
Pull-ups 9
Shuttle run 9.1 sec
Sit up 70
Push-up 52
Mile 6:12
