Any one in Congress Woman Louis Slaughter's district [25th Congressional district] been called for an interview?

Or any calls for Senator Gillibrand's academy interviews so far?

Rep. Slaughter's deadline for completed application was 24 of October. Do not know when they start sending out interview notifications?

Any one know from previous years as to when they start to notify candidates from her office?

Thanks.

Why don't you call their respective offices to find out? Our MOC's offices were happy to share that info.

I am from NY and I have not heard anything from Senator Gillibrand. You only mention Gillibrand, have you gotten anything from Senator Schumer? I am not in your district but I have heard from my congresswoman and got my interview date.

I do not think upstate/western NY candidates get selected through Schumer. So not even thinking about it

Both senators have scheduled interviews in December in the past years, with letters sent out around now.

You're welcome. Also I'm pretty sure that in NY the MOC coordinate nominations. Schumer and Gillibrand tend to wait to see what your congressmen do before releasing the names.

I know in these forums everyone will tell you to get as many nominations as possible from as many sources as possible, but the reality is, depending on your district, you can only get one for one academy.

My DD had put USNA as her first choice and had to call and switch because in my district they wouldn't even let her interview for more than one academy. She didn't get into USAFA but she was offered the Prep and she was/is happy about it. Would she have been offered a spot by USNA if she had the nomination? Who knows, but it simply wasn't possibly where we are. She had to pick one SA and hope for the best.

That is really interesting. Now I get why I could apply to USAFA, USMA, and USNA for my congresswoman but only one or two for my senators. Thanks.

Our district is so competitive that even the congressman allows you to interview only for one academy.

All is not lost :)
It looks like Congress Woman Slaughter's office contacts candidates late November and schedules the interviews in December. Not sure when they make the final announcement. I was getting worried about no call for interview even in to mid November. FYI for future NY 25th district candidates.

Do you know anything about the senators?

@Hockey8797
Based on previous years [on this forum] the interviews take place late December and selected candidates know pretty quickly like a few days later.

Good luck to you. What are you shooting for? Army/navy/Air Force?
For my Congresswoman I am competing for a nomination to all three. By all three I mean that I put down that I have interest in USMA, USAFA, USNA. Senators I have either West Point and Navy or West Point and Air Force. I am shooting for any of them but Army would be my top. How about you?

@Hockey8797
It is for my DS. He is all Navy. Good luck for your westpoint quest. My DS not applying to anything else. Go Navy beat Army, he he.
