I had my eye exam yesterday and everything went well until the end of the appointment when I was tested for depth perception. I was given a book and glasses and asked to identify the shape which popped out in ten different boxes. I was able to easily identify the first 5, but the remaining 5 were nearly impossible to see. I guessed for most of these, and at best I answered 7/10 correctly.
I was very confused by this, I asked the optometrist if I failed, and she said that she could not tell me... In addition, during the test I wasn't allowed to put on my contacts; I had my glasses but they're an outdated prescription so I think this may have been a problem.
I've never had any issues with depth perception before, it's never come up as a problem in sports, driving, etc. Can anyone please offer some advice for this? Did I fail the test if I didn't get a perfect score, and more importantly, will I have to get a medical waiver because of this?
