Everything on my candidate portal has a green check on it. I finished everything but the PE teacher evaluation two weeks ago. I got my PE teacher evaluation in last week. I have been waiting for a 3Q letter but have not received one so far...I was under the impression that if you qualify academically, medically, and physically, you would get one. Am I doing something wrong?

I am medically qualified, I have a 2180 on my SAT, and thought that I did O.K. on the CFA.

b-ball throw: 67 feet
pull-ups: 9
shuttle: 8.9 seconds
push-ups: 70
sit-ups: 78
mile run: 7:01

I know my CFA isn't great but I thought I at least passed it. Should I be worried that i didn't receive a 3Q letter yet???

Do some people get the 3Q letter and others don't? I would really appreciate any feedback...

My DS never received a LOE, but he received an appointment during the very first wave last year in January.

3Q letters go to the portal. Depending on time of the year, you may not get one because it isn't worth the time to tell you that you are 3Q when an appointment or QNS is right around the corner.

In this case, your file is going up for qualification at one of the busiest times of the year in terms of applications being finished with the focus of the reviewers largely elsewhere. It's the holidays, Army/Navy week is around the corner and so are finals (TEEs) and projects. Between all your competition turning in completed applications and the focus of some of the admissions committee members on other events, the qualification review could take a few weeks and that is assuming that it does not need any special checks. Got a ticket over $250, has to be reviewed and voted on by the committee. Suspended, same. Low Math score, well your second check has to be done by the math department versus any committee member who has a free moment to review a file. Go to a really good school and your RC wants to adjust how your class rank is scored, there's an extra review on that as well. Anything that deviates from the norm slows the process down.

If it is three to four weeks and your file doesn't show any update, it would be a good idea to ask your RC what's up. In the interim, keep working to improve you application and don't stop until you hit the file deadline or receive the appointment.

Thank you so much for the reply. Forgive me, what is a QNS?

THIS is why candidates are told to complete their file as soon as possible.
