New Navy football uniforms..just in time for Army

They are great. I particularly like the fleet inspired helmets. Very cool.

I liked the ones last year (more than I thought I would).

To me these are tacky.

Damn the torpedoes...

Showcasing the ships in the fleet...

And that's tacky? Looks to me like we're finally getting our priorities straight.

But everyone has an opinion.

I have fairly conservative taste. I'll take artwork on a hockey goalie mask, but it just…. eh, I don't know…. it's just too much.

Navy priorities have nothing to do with artwork on a barely D-I football team. I just wonder who would want an LCS on their helmets (of course, my class ring has a 123' cutter…. before they were all decommissioned, and the program was investigated…)

I like conservative, consistent jerseys (I don't like the Army's cammo jerseys either).

It's all a gimmick.

I agree with a lot you said, but "barely D-1"?

Have you been in a coma, or out of the country this fall?

upload_2015-12-3_7-0-3.jpeg These are the helmets from last year that LineIntheSand prefered over this years. While I personally like the creativity employed for this years with the homage to the fleet, the marine globe, etc. I mean, this takes some real talent...I do love last years as they just speak and define "Navy" with the anchor, the color layout, etc. When they came on the field for the first time with them even the national announcers game them a big wow and why not? Actually kinda wish they would have kept them on a permanent basis as no one would mistake who this team was.

Maplerock...LOL with the "coma" quip:biggrin:..probably Navy's best team in over 45 years and while I thought they didn't have the best game plan for Houston, that ND game was three points at the half and Reynolds went out...ah, what might have been as they were playing really well against a top 10 team. For this year, they really were a solid DI team

And I have to admit I wasn't a huge fan of those Navy uniform initially, but they grew on me. They're essentially midshipmen uniforms, which at this point is far more identifying than a ship (poor Marine Corps).

To be fair, I haven't been a huge fan of the multiple jerseys CGA football has sported either. Apparently Adidas gave them a number of options. I just don't like having to guess which team I'm cheering for because I don't recognize them from week to week.

So some Admiral's dead beat kid got tired of airbrushing murals on vans and tailgates...
