NY Nominations

When my DS went for his interview for Schumer they said they we would not hear anything until the end of January.

This post is more of a comment then a question. I figure it is open for debate but believe it’s unfortunate that both U.S Senators in New York wait so long to announce and inform the candidates of a nomination. At least the MOC upstate NY let us know sooner. Wishing everyone best of luck and a Happy New Year!

I think they are waiting out the MOCs so they can eliminate the candidates who have received MOC noms, at least to the extent candidates have been forthcoming with that information.

Schumer's office is especially bad because they don't send a letter if you don't get a nomination. They don't tell you if you aren't picked for an interview either. It's complete radio silence.

I believe that Gillibrand has notified by phone all those selected. At least that's what it sounded like when they called my DD.

I hear that the Honorable Gillibrand only called prep school nomination candidates. Is your DD currently at prep school?
Senator Schumer we were told will let us know either way in January. His interviews were from Dec 1st-Dec 17th.
Best of luck to you and DD. Have a healthy and happy New Year.

Yes, she is at the prep.

Last year we got nothing from Schumer, but I'm not complaining since she has 2 nominations and it's practically a shoe in at this point.

Happy new year to you and family as well and I hope your DS gets the nomination he wants.

Nothing yet up here. Senator Schumer's interviews ended over 3 weeks ago. New York has a reputation for being fast paced. Not with nominations that's for sure.
I know "patients is a virtue".
