Hello to all!
I am a 'once' hopeful father who used this site to only read info about parenting a candidate. Now, my wife and I would like to become more involved as parents of a daughter who has received her appointment! We have many questions still, and would like to share our knowledge on any subject in which we may be able to assist. Our daughter is part of the Class of 2013 and we welcome any advice you can share. Thanks, in advance.

Congrats to your daughter. :thumb:

You say she received her appointment, and she is (will be) part of the Class of 2013, but there are 5 Service Academies.

Which one will she be attending?

Welcome

...Our daughter is part of the Class of 2013 and we welcome any advice you can share.

As a fellow parent (USNA '07), I'm glad to see you here and look forward to sharing in your experience and stand by to help in any way I can. Congratulations to your daughter. Enjoy the roller-coaster ride.

Welcome! and good luck to you and your daughter. It is one hard year for parents too but there is lots of good information and support here!

Congrats and offically welcome! I'm sure you've already seen on here, it can be very tough on parents as well as the cadets and midshipmen. Be ready for some bad calls with profanity from your cadet on a bad day, with the understanding that most calls will be followed by calls with great news and excited cadets voices. It is certainly a roller coaster ride, but completely worth it!

Enjoy!

Join your local parent group. You will meet lots of interesting parents with a common bond. In our area we have very involved West Point Parents Club, AFA Parents club and USNA Parents Club. We, USNA PC, do things with the local Alumni Association - those events are always very informative and fun. We do tailgates with USAFA parents Club and have a huge event with Alumni and WP Parents and Alumni for A-N.

Congratulations

Class of 2013

Hi, New to the forum. My daughter is Class of 2013 US Naval Academy (I choke up just thinking about it.) It is finally starting to sink in that she is leaving July 1. Joined this forum yesterday for advice and so far so good.
