No USCGA cadet under 21 can drink anywhere. If they do so, they do so at huge risk.
His dad doesn't want to baby him by intervening and pulling strings. He wants him to have serious consequences and take responsibility.LITS...yup, you're right. He needs to take care of business and get his name off of that list. His dad understands that.
Nope, was about another person's comments about what was "allowed/accepted"If you are talking about the previous roommate he is 23......

That is the perfect response. Hard stance to take, but absolutely the right way to deal with it. Well done. His dad doesn't want to baby him by intervening and pulling strings. He wants him to have serious consequences and take responsibility.

I'm sure you know the old saw about what they call a med school student who gets all Ds after graduation? Doctor.
I missed the post about his dad's retirement. If he's grades are as bad as they seem to be from your posts (I know he failed one, just not sure what the other grades were), and he's on academic probation, his focus HAS to be on school. Trying to work out the approval process to go home for a retirement is a distraction.
Honestly, I'm sure your husband can attest to this, in a service you'll miss more than your share of important events. I missed a wedding I was a groomsman in (luckily the groom was an Army officer who understood) and I missed a funeral.
I agree in theory, but it IS an important event in our lives and I am sure that neither one of them would listen to me anyway, so....
I think he got a B, C, D (Chemistry) and F (Calculus). If he fails out, that other important event, graduating from the Coast Guard Academy, also wouldn't happen. Retirements are nice, I've taken part in a number, but the reality of the situation is, he has to buckle down and do much better if he wants to stay at CGA.
You said he was close in Chemistry. Any idea what the final grade was in that class, or what is GPA is? An F with all As isn't as bad as an F with a D and C- and C- and C.
