If you've been accepted to USCGA, how do you know if you are a recruited athlete or will have to walk on? Specifically, for baseball.
 
If you don't know if you are a recruited athlete then it's a good bet you are not a recruited athlete.

Have you had any direct contact with the coach?
 
No, I'm just a goat. I know a guy though that talked to him at AIM and got early acceptance.
 
Just because he talked to the coach doesn't mean he got in EA because he was a recruit. Coaches probably talk to tons of kids at AIM. Only the coach knows the details to that. And if you haven't been in direct contact with the coach on many occasions, you probably aren't being recruited. But, that shouldn't stop you for filling out a recruit form, emailing it to the coach and introducing yourself. If you want to play no reason to not explore the option.

You have to speak to the coach and ask the question about a spot on the baseball team. Specifically about the position you play. Did you get invited to spend a day at the academy with the coach, players with a full it itinerary for the day? Did the coach send info to admissions during EA? Was an LOA given to you? Again keep the line of communication open with the coach. Ask them if you will be part of national signing day once you receive your appointment.
 
My son has been recruited for football and baseball. He has visited campus and talked to the coaches. Every coach we have talked to is very approachable. I would suggest contacting Coach Grant head baseball coach. My son said he was very easy to talk to. Good luck!

Sorry that my name is so noticeable. I don't know how to change it. However, I am a recruited baseball and football athlete. I took an athletic overnight visit. If you got invited to one of them then you are a recruited athlete.
