Has anyone recieve full acceptance letter from the citadel yet?

Aye sir, I have received my full acceptance packet from The Citadel for the class of 2013.

Stevehorse - what does that look like?

I don't think my son has received that yet. Did it come with your financial aid/scholarship offers?

Received mine today. Anyone going for a Preknob visit on the 19th?

mwbluebeard: I think scholarship offers would be separate from the acceptance packet and even other financial aid information. For that, they'd probably just send you a letter, rather than a large envelope of information.

I'm not exactly sure what yall mean by full acceptance packet. I took it to mean the bundle of information they sent after being academically accepted (checklist of documents to send in, drug testing consent form, media relations form, medical history packet, etc)

My son received an academic acceptance pkg 2 weeks after

applying. It had a lot of forms and information in it.

Last week he did receive a "full acceptance" letter. It was a single page in a regular business size envelope and did not include any financial aid or scholarship info.

I got full ride to The Citadel.

I got fully accepted with 4-year Army ROTC Scholarship 02/26/09.
Does anyone know when I'll be receiving further documents or (a t-shirt maybe)?

Im so close...I am academically qualified and they waived the mild asthma. THEN my doctor sent in my height weight as HEIGHT: 5 WEIGHT: 11

So now I have to fix everything and wait for that to clear up. Other than that Im good...

Good catch. It's always good to double check things like this with your doctor before the forms get submitted. I'm not sure how El Cid does it, but VMI assigns incoming freshmen to their companies by height (other than those joining Band Co.) so that, in theory, it will look uniform for parades. But there's always inevitably at least one tall guy in a short company. This happens because the kid's doc put the height down in feet and inches instead of just inches, meaning that the kid who's 6'2" gets processed in the system as being 62", or 5'2". As for women, well, for some reason they don't always even attempt to separate them by height as compared to other women. So then we always end up with someone who's 5'2" in a company where the shortest man is 5'11".

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted to The Citadel. It's good to start building these connections now. While my understanding of The Citadel system is that you'll mainly interact with your company (as opposed to the interaction with the entire class we have at VMI, since we're considerably smaller than El Cid), you'll depend on these relationships to make it through your knob year.

Keep your head down and smile on the inside.

Good luck,

My son received his letter last week and unfortunately turned them (and AROTC) down after his USMAPS appointment. He did a Pre-Knob visit last month and loved the school so it was with a heavy heart. My wife loved the fact that the Citadel is only 6 hours away and Charleston is a beautiful city but, it's not up to her. lol
