Reports are coming in of an active shooter in San Diego Naval Medical Center

Naval Base Commander indicates the report of an active shooter is unfounded as they have found no evidence of a shooting. The clearing of floors is quite time consuming though, so they are still on lockdown. This is the second time in six months my DD has been in lockdown at a military medical facility. If this one is determined to be unfounded I'm ok with the long lockdown ... it is much better to be safe than sorry.

The worst impact is to patients and visitors of patients. My heart goes out to the parents still waiting in line near the gate to visit their inpatient children.

It has been a well coordinated effort with local, state, and federal agencies.
 
Now that it seems to be a false alarm....

Many of you have seen this training video. Those who haven't should. Keep in mind that this is designed for lay people, NOT military trained folks like many of those on this forum.
