Is it possible to carry a scholarship over to USAFA? I know USAFA entitles pretty much everything you'll need for the 4 years, but I was wondering if I could use a scholarship I received (it states I can use at any 4-year university, not sure if it excludes SA) for additional necessities without having it come out of my cadet pay?

From what I've seen on this forum, it looks like as long as it's not a tuition-paying scholarship, it can be applied to cadet accounts. I'm no expert though.

Certain scholarships with no restrictions can be accepted by the Academy to offset the no interest advance pay loan that cadets receive for initial expenses (such as their computer and books).

I know a few classmates who came in with an unrestricted scholarship. They just make more money each month than everyone else since they are not paying back as much out of their cadet pay. However, some people look down upon bringing a scholarship here because we're literally get everything paid for. It's ultimately your choice though.

Turns out, the scholarship I received can't be used at the Academy. And I'm totally fine with that! Was just hoping that I could save more, just like you noted that cadets get more pay each month, @SkiesToConquer18 Thank you all!
