Hey all, I hate to start a "whole new thread" on the same topic as nearly half of the other threads on this site, but I'm sitting on pins and needles hopefully awaiting an Offer of Admission. Below I have listed my qualifications. (Please note I do not mean to come across as bragging, I simply want to have an accurate representation of my application)

Academics:
  1. AP CLASSES: Lang (A), Lit (B), US History (A), Political Science(A), Calculus(C), Physics(A), Chemistry(A)
  2. I have always performed poorly at mathematics, but pursue the toughest classes available at my school.

  4. GPA (W): 4.14
  5. Class Rank: Top 5%
  6. ACT Composite: 30
  • Mathematics: 27 (I know it should be a 28, but I just can't seem to get it there)
  • Science: 31

  • Reading: 31
  • Writing: 8
Athletics:
  • Cross Country, 2 years (interscholastic) (9 and 11)

  • Speech and Debate Team (11 and 12)
  • JROTC Cyberpatriot (11 and 12)
  • JROTC Raider Team (11)
  • Writer's Studio (11 and 12)
  • Peer Tutoring (9, 10, 11, 12)

Awards and Honors:
  • Boy Scouts of America Eagle Rank

  • Christian Youth Group (9 and 10)

  • National Thespian Honor Society (11, 12)
  • National Speech and Debate Honor Society (11, 12)
  • Academic All State First Team (11, 12)
In these societies, I am not just a basic member. I am a variety of Second Degree, Third Degree, etc.

Work:
  • I also work part-time as a cashier (20-25 hours per week) year round.
Congressional Nominations:
  • Due to my father's service in the US Army (not a USMA Graduate), I "received" the Presidential Nomination.
  • I received Congressman Lamborn's Congressional Nomination to USMA. (CO DIS 5)
  • I am still waiting to hear back from Senators Gardner and Bennet. (CO)
Extra:
  • I have been contacted by my Regional Admissions Officer (Southwest) and told that in my district, out of over 130 candidates, I am 1 of 34 competitive applicants. He estimates that at least, but not many more than 10 of us will be offered admission.

Thank you for reading my lengthy message, I appreciate any and all advice/comments from Retirees, Active Duty, Current Cadets, and Applicants like myself. GO ARMY, SINK NAVY!

No one can tell you what your chances are. The wait is brutal. Based on your info you have a 10/34 chance or about 30%. Only time will tell. Good luck.

Thank you for your response. You're right, I just have to accept the inevitable and wait.

The community service, JROTC, and Eagle Scout will all look really good on the 'whole person' evaluation. You have strong academics, strong community service, strong extracurriculars. Don't sweat it, just have a patience.

Thank you! Have you already been accepted to USMA for the Class of 2020? I looked at your profile, if so, congrats!!! I hope to see you there next year!

Overall you have a really strong profile. You should be very proud of your accomplishments so far in your young life. One thing you will learn in the military is the motto "Hurry up and Wait." Waiting is the hardest part. In the end, I'm sure it will all work itself out.

Out of curiosity, what state and district do you reside?

Thank you!! I can definitely understand the truth behind that motto, coming from a military family. I'm in the Fifth Congressional District in Colorado (I'm at Fort Carson).

What is your plan B?
If I am not offered admission, I have received a Four Year Army ROTC Scholarship. I will reapply if I am not accepted. I am still awaiting College Admission Letters, but already have received an Acceptance Letter from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

I would like to update all the users who kindly replied to this thread that I have received another Congressional Nomination from my state senator, and was found 3Q in November (notified just a few days ago). Thank you all for the continued support!

All I can add is that I am less qualified (based off of what you've posted) than you, and I received the P-nom and an appointment in a competitive California district.

It's great to hear from an applicant (or should I say official plebe!) on the West Coast! The area in Colorado I'm in (5th Congressional) is very competitive as well, so I know my best shot is through the Presidential Catergory. Thanks for the encouragement, I hope to hear from Admissions soon. Were you given a LOE or LOA? Also, did you first hear from a MOC, BFE, or the Portal?

You still have a shot, and that's what's important! I was not given an LOE or LOA - hell, my MOC told me they had submitted a competitive slate, so I was amazed to learn about my P-nom! I learned from my portal, then received my BFE the next day. Surprised not to hear from my MOC. What a weekend I had, and well worth the effort! I wish you well, and hope to see you on R-day!

That's music to my ears! I hope to see you on R-Day as well!
