What does status change in the portal to boarded mean for NROTC?

Does it mean they have evaluated the candidate and a decision has been made or what does it mean?

How long after a status change to boarded do we hear the results?

[The NROTC board ? meet last week, the counsellor emailed asking us to check the portal, which showed the status change to boarded, but not sure if it means the application was consider last week or it will be consider in the February 2nd week board?]

Thanks for any info.

Informe, a status change to "Boarded" means that the NROTC board has looked at your application and made a decision about whether or not to offer you the NROTC scholarship. You should find out the results within 4 weeks after the board met. If you did not win this time around, the board will look at you again at later boards. I hope you win the scholarship!

Where does it say "boarded" I haven't been able to find it on the portal? Thanks!

@JaxNavymom it does not explicitly say boarded. The application is considered "board ready" when your portal says this:

"The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application.

Missing Items
All required items have been processed.

Selection Status
Additional Information..."

And then it lists the five schools, etc.

Where are you guys seeing this information? Whenever dd logs on to see her status there is nothing there at all. Where are you going to view these portals?

@NavyMom24
If you do not see anything it means she is not yet reviewed by the board. As soon as her application has been reviewed then the web page changes and you see additional information like this:
"The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application.
Missing Items
All required items have been processed.
Selection Status
Additional Information..."
And then it lists the five schools, etc.

That is the only way to know. In our case the NROTC coordinator called and alerted us to check the portal and we then saw the changes.

Did you type in information correctly? Many times I've seen the portal to be completely blank but that's because I input my info (birthday, etc) incorrectly.

There are four stages of your application after it gets submitted:

The status of your application will change from:
At Recruiter Level for Processing
To
At NRC level for Processing
To
At NSTC for Final Processing
To
At NSTC, Board Ready
To
Pending Decision

Tip: Make sure you pay attention to the correct scholarship year. If I remember correctly, two years are displayed -- the upcoming and current. If you pick the incorrect year, nothing will show. I'm assuming she's gone beyond that point though if she actually logged in.

Thanks for this info. My DS' NROTC portal states the following:

The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application.

Missing Items

All required items have been processed.

Selection Status

No decision has been made on your application.

Sounds like the "Final Processing" phase. Agree?

So if my DS's portal changed to the above, that means that he is in the "Final Phase of Processing" does that mean that he can still get rejected and will we still be waiting until April to hear if he has a scholarship or not. Thank you for all your help on this process.

@Skye that status means that all materials have been processed and now he is ready to be reviewed by the board. You may not get a response until April (the last board), but it is possible he could hear sooner than that.

If he does get a scholarship though, there will be an email and a portal change. If he does not, the status remains the same as above.

@ForGod&Country I would like to amend my previous answer---your DS's application has already gone through the final processing stage. It is currently at the "board ready" status. Good luck!

A status of:

"No decision has been made on your application"

Means it has or has not met a board?

I assumed it meant it had met, only that it was likely going to roll to the next board....

The good bad news is that they are now sending out notices when someone has fallen below the possibility of being a winner even if looked at again line on the Merit List. Last board results which were sent out the Wed in the week prior to the 'expected by' date. So next week we might see more results coming out. Since the deadline for applications has passed they know how many offers have been made and how many they have left to give so those that are below possibility ( guessing they are leaving some waiting to see how many offered are going to turn them back in.) I do not know much how this part works, but my DS's NJROTC instructor said the alternative selection reservation those selected had believed that they had no shot at a slot but after all slots are given each state gets x number of slots and they go down the list of those that made that application for that NJROTC second look. They go down the list till they get to ones not already offered. She said last year there were 10 in Florida that thought all hope was gone assuming that meant the you will not receive an offer letters had been sent and then they got the NJROTC second look slot. So if you have a NJROTC student that got the second look in they may even still have a slot after getting the no chance letter. The ranking on the State second look your student can know I think they sent the list to NJROTC unit and they were told or may have required calling the POC on the student's application. Just know DS came home and told me his ranking for State.

Anyone hearing anything about possible results from the 8-11 Board maybe released this week?

Has anyone heard about possible results from the 22-26 board or should we start hearing next week?

This is great information. Could you share how you obtained the advertised board dates? We are looking for FY17 board dates. Thanks in advance~
