I got my scholarship for NROTC awarded back in Nov, and I went to my dodmerb appointments in December. Apparently, I have scoliosis that is disqualifying, as I was told my the doctor who checked me out. So I was pretty bummed, because he said I would be getting a letter saying I was DQ'ed. But I didn't receive any mail until now, when I got a letter saying all clear! What does this mean? My scoliosis in upper back was above the 30 degree cut off (by a little), I was told. Is there a chance I can just keep my mouth shut here and roll with it?

Did the DoDMERB letter say you were "Qualified" If so, I would think you are fine...

I am sure the examining doctor did there job and reported their findings. Dodmerb reviewed the report and qualified you. You are good to go. IMHO, no need to follow up with dodmerb.

I would just go by what DoDMERB days. My experience was the opposite of yours. Physician said I was A-ok, and that I would get qualified. Lo and behold, 3 weeks later I was given a remedial. Luckily it was a very minor remedial and I did end up getting qualified, but just shows that when it comes to DoDMERB, trust they they are giving you the right info.

The different services have different qualifying standards.
Could be that your degree of scoliosis is not disqualifying for Navy.
