Any recommendations or suggestions for things to do and places to go (on and off the Yard) during the swimming and diving championships and the weekend (02/17-02/21)?

Weather is supposed to be sunny and mid-50's, very mild winter days. That's the first thing to check.

If you have a DD/DS who is a mid, it's whatever they want to do in terms of food and activity.

for who's playing at Navy.

If you have done everything in Annapolis, the weather would be good for a run into DC to do museums you haven't done before. Park at New Carollton Metro Station and take Orange Line Metro in. Or drive the GW Parkway to Mt. Vernon. Baltimore - the National Aquarium is a favorite of mine. Ft. McHenry on a sunny day is nice.

The Washington Post Going Out Guide is a good place to look for current events.

Big day in Alumni Hall on Saturday. Both basketball teams and the wrestling team take on Army. Pretty much runs nearly all day. Capt MJ nailed it for off the yard stuff. If you only have a few hours there is the usual DTA walking around or catching a movie at the mall. Also can hit up some of the great crab places like Cantler's a little distance from the Yard.

If you decide you want to go to A-N hoops, it's usually a sell-out, so check on tix.

If nothing else, settle in at the Iron Rooster downtown and tuck into modern comfort food. Breakfast all day. House made pop tarts.

Oh - and the Amish Market, open Thurs, Fri, Sat. Standing room only in the lines for fresh baked goods, pretzels you watch being made, or eating breakfast or lunch there. A long-time Annapolis place to go.

When we were there we spent nearly an entire day at Red, Red, Wine Bar. (I teach a wine course. It was research :)) Great town!

Appreciate the input! We will definitely hit up the Amish Market. Already discovered Iron Rooster and slowly working our way through the menu. Found out pop tart flavors can change rather rapidly, so get one as an appetizer and a different one for dessert. Always looking for local favorites and hidden gems. Any more suggestions?

For extra credit....
Next time, visit Wine Cellars of Annapolis, with its attached Grapes Wine Bar and Café. Excellent small plates to share, superb wines by the glass, including special deals on glasses from very expensive bottles, at very reasonable prices. Free tastings available in the Barrel Room (affordable enjoy-nows) daily, as well as special ones on weekends. Lots of Navy logo gear worn by patrons.

Eternally in your debt! With or without an appointment we will be back to enchanting Annapolis !!

Just a quick update… I highly recommend the fresh baked pretzels and the various filled pretzel logs at the Amish Market.
