Hi everyone! I have a question regarding the timetable for admissions.

I completed my application during the first week of December, and received a principal nomination to USAFA from my MOC during the first week of January. I am medically qualified (passed Dodmerb in August without any issues), passed the CFA on my first try in November, and have been told via my ALO that I am academically qualified (30 ACT (33 english, 27 math, 34 reading, 28 sr) & I have a 3.8 GPA). Therefore, I am fairly confident that this would mean I am "3Q'd". (If not, please feel free to educate me) :)

Should I/ do people in my situation usually hear back sooner than non-principal nom applicants? Or should I still expect to hear back from the Academy in March with the majority of applicants?

Sidenote: I received a call from my MOC notifying me of the principal nom, and it also shows that on my portal. However, I have not gotten a letter from USAFA confirming that they have received my nomination. Is it possible to receive an appointment before getting this letter?

Thank you all for your time!

I don't think USAFA is sending out nomination letters. All communications are digital right now. I'm a principal nom as well, and from previous posters on the forum, they said there is no earlier notification for principals (unfortunately). I think we will just have to wait it out :|

Okay great, thanks for your insight!

Best of luck and I hope to see you in June!

It says on your portal that you're the Principal Nominee?
My MOC's office told me that I was the Principal, but it doesn't say anything special in my portal...

My DS is also a Principal nominee. He received a call and a letter from MOC but portal does not designate that he is Principal.

No my portal doesn't distinguish me as a principal nom, it just says I have the nomination.
Sorry for the confusion!

We are in the same boat of all of you! DD opened her application 1-30-15 when she applied for Summer Seminar, completed her application in November, got 3 nominations-including principal-in December and now....we wait! Hopefully the wait is nearing the end! Good luck to you all, hang in there!!!

I would sit back and enjoy my senior year. My S had an ACT score of 31. English 32 Math 27 Reading 33 Science 34. He was told during his AFA interview that he had to pull up his Math score to a 27. He did not receive a nomination to USAFA. He received Congressional nominations to USMA, USNA, and USMMA. He also has a nomination to USMMA from our senator. You have worked hard and are fortunate to be a Principal. Enjoy your time before you report
