Just got an email with attachment and it said he would also get it in the mail. Just glad not having to wait for the mail to get more answers.

So things in the packet that addressed some things I misunderstood from posts here. For some reason I thought the descusion on CIET was saying all those starting AROTC contracted or not were to attend that training but following is under

INELIGIBILITY:
2016 ROTC Cadet Initial Entry Training (CIET). Winners who attend the 2016
ROTC CIET forfeit their eligibility for an Army ROTC 4-year scholarship. If you are
contacted about the 2016 ROTC CIET, ensure that the officer who contacts you is
advised that you have been selected for a 4-year scholarship or 3-year advanced
designee scholarship. (Not applicable to 2 year MJC Winners

It also gave a NLT 15 Dec 2016 date to pass APFT for 4 year and July 1 2017 for 3yr. Although 3yr are not 'required' to pass till after MSI as I showed DS the PMS also still has to recommend your 3 year start so better to show up at minimum in the 80s for each area and work to improve that first year so the PMS is going to want to recommend him.

Does anyone know why 4 and 3 year AD scholarship winners are ineligible for 2016 CIET?

Because if they go to CIET this Summer That means they have signed up for a JMC and the ECP program. No student planning to be a freshman this fall at a 4 year school should be attending CIET this Summer

I guess I should read the dates a little better, just realized they were talking about this summer, 2016. Makes perfect sense now.

Thank goodness for Clarkson keeping the facts straight.

Me too! :biglaugh:. Thank you, Clarksonarmy!

Sorry was saying I had misunderstood the earlier posts about CIET sometimes others are as confused as my old brain sieve. Thanks to every one here for helping us figure this out. I was enlisted prior to college so totally different world. The only thing kid an I are going to have in common is using VA dependent education. LOL You all have kept DS and I from looking like crazy people by asking some of the questions we ask.

No worries. I was confused, as my DS has already contracted and will have completed his MS-I year by summer of 2016 and thus will be attending CIET.
