To accepted candidates:
Info packets for class of 2020 are up, and tonsssssss of new check boxes appeared. It seems as if the process is never ending :)! Looks like we're being issued OCPs! Good luck everyone!

I received an appointment a while back but I haven't accepted it yet. Just keeping options open. I guess you have to accept to get the info packet because I only have the sample oath.

Does anyone have experience with any of the boots? I'm not sure which to get. Also how do I know if they fit as they should? I don't want to be issued new ones at the academy if they see that the ones I already broke in don't fit as they should.

If you have accepted your appointment, you will soon receive a "boot letter" that tells you exactly which boots you can purchase for Beast (usually ~3-4 options). If you are close to a base, you can take the boot letter and try them on/purchase at the PX. If you are not close to a base, you can purchase online -- my DS had to purchase and try on a couple of pairs to get the right fit. The new boots don't need as much breaking in as in the past. You do need to get your low quarters before Beast and break them in -- these are dress shoes and much stiffer, especially if you're not used to wearing dress shoes. Not sure about the c/o 2020, but for c/o 2018 all new cadets were issued a pair of boots (and low quarters) at the beginning of Beast. Wait for the boot letter! I know cadet candidates are anxious to get started on everything and start purchasing things -- you will receive info directly from WP on what you NEED to purchase and what you are allowed to bring.

The boot letter was one of the things updated yesterday!

You're right! We are required to purchase boots and low quarters before beast! We need to get the boots in coyote brown instead of desert tan though! Thank you for your advice!

Just to update everyone who does not know yet, the forms discussed within the "1st Admissible" folder are now available on your portal, directly above your "Sample Oath of Allegiance."

It's under "admissible" along with the acceptance packet and the dental instructions

He just printed the acceptance package with dental, police check etc. There was not anything else there. He just accepted today though so maybe it will take a few days.

I thought they gave you all the same boots on your first day of beast?

Yes, they gave all new cadets the same brand/style at Beast, but the boot letter lists 3-4 brands/styles so that you can purchase one pair to bring to Beast. This was c/o 2018 & I believe c/o 2019. Things could be different for c/o 2020. Did just read on FB page that the list of items to bring is being shortened for this class. Either you'll be issued more items or WP has decided you'll have to wait until after Beast to have them.

Did your son's portal end up updating with the boot letter and other forms? I accepted my appointment before this past weekend on Friday, but I don't see a boot letter under admissible.
