Hey all

I know that cadets receive a laptop once they get to West Point that has the CAC reader and whatever else West Point wants it to have. I have also heard that we need a tablet or iPad. Do we provide our own tablet/iPad or is that also given to us by West Point during Reorgy Week? Thanks!
 
Last year class had choice to buy iPad or bring. They have a good deal. There will be a basic computer package issued. You will have option for additional items. You pay for electronics. It is deducted from pay over time.
 
West Point does not give you anything that you can physically walk away with. You pay for all of it - uniforms, books, computers, etc. It all comes out of your pay, deposit, scholarship money (a nickel at a time).
 
There is a 2K deposit that is required before R-Day. You will be notified on the second step of your portal. The 2k deposit is to pre-pay for your computer and any additional equipment you want or think you need. Such as a larger monitor and printer. I would encourage you to get the additional items and at the cadet store they will have the ink for that type of printer or you can order ink from the inter-web like amazon. You will be required to purchase an IPad. I feel its not necessary to get the cell wireless option. You may not bring your own desk top or lap top and thumb drives of any kind are not allowed anywhere at WP.

Just pray you don't get the same computers as 2019. You will get a printer, laptop, tablet, and all the attachments that go with them.
