Commissioning Without a Scholarship

I have a quick question. Can you still commission into the Navy and Air Force without a scholarship. I know you can with the army but I'm not sure about the Navy/Air Force. Thanks.
 
Most of the cadets in my detachment (AFROTC) commissioned without getting a single scholarship.
 
All of them went active duty. At least from my det, I don't know of a single cadet who went Reserve or ANG after commissioning. You don't need a scholarship to succeed in AFROTC.
 
Yes. So far, cadets who commission through AFROTC, with or without a scholarship, go into active duty. Last year, there were offers given to pilot selects who were FY15 to cross into AF Reserve units, but they were only offers.
 
For NROTC, you must have either a scholarship or advanced standing by junior year in order to continue in the program and on to commissioning. If you're on advanced standing your tuition is not covered but you will receive the monthly stipend.

If you aren't offered the opportunity to proceed into your junior year within NROTC basically.

From some of the College Program documentation:

Q: What is Advanced Standing?
A: Advance Standing, if granted, will provide you with the monthly stipend during the school year for the remaining
two years and would attend summer cruise between your Junior and Senior year. Upon graduation, the Advanced
Standing Midshipman receives the same commission as Scholarship Midshipmen.

Q: What if I don’t get picked up for Scholarship or Advanced Standing by my junior year?
A: If a Midshipman has not been granted Advance Standing by the beginning of the junior year, he or she will be
disenrolled from the ROTC program. You can then look at other Officer commissioning programs through your local
Officer Recruiter.
