I am a junior in high school right now and I was wondering when I am supposed to send my transcripts and do they prefer them electronically or in a letter mailed to them. Thank you very much.

In the application process, when it formally opens (not sure when) and you have a portal and all that, you will request your Guidance Counselor to send them in how USMA dictates. At that point, you will send all semesters since 9th grade.

If you have started an application (completed the candidate questionnaire), send your 6 semester transcripts as soon as they are complete (beginning of summer break). This will require coordination on your part with your counselor, and maybe a little leg work to get the mailing address/school code. West Point only accepts electronic transcripts from certain (Parchment, I believe) providers. Otherwise, you need to have your counselor send them. This lets you get ahead of the process even if your main application doesn't open until later in the summer.

Thank you, and what is the main application? I have been following the timeline and it just gives me the steps to admission and I did not read about a main application.
