For those anxiously waiting.........the next two Thursday's will be big days for this thread. I-day 2016 is 5 days later than 2015.

Hello,

I'm a sophomore in High School trying to go to USAFA.

I'm currently The JROTC Armed Drill Team commander, Speech and Debate President, Class President, and a member of a Track and Field Club. I'm planning to join NHS next year. I am also the creator and the manager of our JROTC Website.

I have all A's Ranked 41 out of 844 Students

I Have Received awards such as
*Cadet Of The Quarter ( JROTC)
* Cadet Of The Year ( JROTC)
* Mustang of the 9wks ( School)
* Mustang of the Year. ( School)

The Mustang Award is given to a student for overall performance, and for being a overall ideal student who is basically categorized as a star student.


What should I should do to become more appealing to the academy?

You sound like you are off to a great start! I would suggest that you search the USAFA Forum first, read some recent threads to get a feel for what you need to do. Then ask away !!

As far as I can tell there was no big wave of appointments offered this week. Do you guys think there will be next week or could there still be a large wave of appointments all released tomorrow?

I can't say for sure, so this is just my humble opinion...

Because a lot of candidates are notified of their appointments by a phone call from their MOC before their portals are updated (one or two days before), and no one has posted anything about receiving MOC phone calls, I would conclude that, unfortunately, we will have to wait another week for now. Again, I don't know anything official so this is just my opinion.

I'm sure there were many that were waiting for their final SAT scores that would count before the deadline and they were released today by College Board. These were the kids to had to take the rescheduled test on 2/20 due to the East Coast blizzard on 1/23. This may have played a part in the delay.

No call/email for me today! I had my phone on me at all times today and couldn't stop checking it. Keeping fingers crossed for news tomorrow!

I feel like with no additions to the list of appointees for such a long period of time that there is going to be a large release soon. Just my guess though.
