What do you mean by college of your choice? Didn't they place your scholarship with the school that you listed #1 and give you a form to fill out to transfer your scholarship?I got one early Monday- 4 years to the college of my choice
DS received 4-year scholarship yesterday afternoon -- but has not been accepted to the school as of yet. Not sure if this is common.Has anyone received a decision this week?
Hi Chris - please understand I am telling you this with the absolute best intentions, but it is my understanding that NROTC scholarships are awarded to specific schools. My DS received one as well. Each school has a quota - and some - like Texas A&M- are in high demand. They can only take 25 four year scholarship students there, and as a result he is currently on a wait list. You can apply the scholarship to any school you want, but they have to have room for you at that unit. This is not true of his AFROTC scholarship, which he can use anywhere, including at A&M. I am not saying you are wrong, but it's something very different than I have heard, or experienced with other families I know. I would just investigate and call the unit at the school you want to go to!I got one early Monday- 4 years to the college of my choice
Still showing no decision think maybe because he did the Minority Serving Institution applications for Howard and Tuskeegee and the Alternate thing I always forget the name but is what the NJROTC cadets can apply for and then are ranked by their state with each state getting slots based on how many are left then they have to find schools with slots that they are admitted to or could get accepted. He has AROTC 3 year and selected a school that does not have NROTC but has been accepted to several NROTC schools so if got a 4 year to a school that also gives free room and board might be a conversation..But he really likes the ROTC unit at selected school so might be a hard sell to change now.Denied NROTC Scholarship yesterday.
Denied NROTC Scholarship yesterday. Still waiting on USNA and USMMA. Triple Qualified with nomination on both. I was pretty upset because NROTC was the plan B. They must have had really strong applicants this year. Like really, really strong.
