I'm currently in the process of talking to the baseball coach at USMA. Is it too late to be offered a spot for athletics and would they ask me to reapply for next year, or is there still a chance for a 2020 appointment? Thanks

Have you received an appointment?

Are you a current high school senior? If you are, Did you apply for 2020? If you haven't applied pretty sure it is too late and there aren't any strings to be pulled at this point.

It's pretty late in the cycle - unless something has happened to one of the coach's prospects, there isn't much they can do for you at this point. They would take you trying out during Beast/walkons, so the coach isn't likely to completely shut you out completely.

If you haven't gotten a TWE you are in the running. Being marked as a Blue Chip only the coach would know. I would imagine if you are just now have contact with them and they didn't offer an official visit, then they are talking with you and telling you to walk on and see what happens. You can reapply if it gets to that point, that is up to you.

Let me rephrase the question: do you have a nomination? Not an appointment. If you don't have a nomination you could be offered prep at either MAPS or Civil Prep. Either way take it, you will be better prepared for the demands of academics.
