Is this event open to anyone in Texas, or just residents of "north" TX? We live in west TX, and there are no events scheduled in our area, but we'd like to attend to start gathering information.

Anyone from anywhere can attend. It is my understanding that this is a great event to learn about all the Service Academies and very well done.

I don't understand what it being a "come and stay" event means, does this signify that you come in the beginning and stay until the end for presentations/etc, or is it possibly to show up in the beginning and leave if you have to? The reason I am asking is because I am considering showing up to a church retreat late to attend this forum. Thanks!

I wish I knew about something like this when my son was still in the pre-application and application process. He now has an appointment, but what a great opportunity for those still considering a SA.

That is a confusing statement. I think you can come and go as you need to.
Basically, all the Services/ROTC will have information tables set up with representatives to answer your questions. They will have a lot of informational brochures for you to take. Then, there will be a time where everyone will gather in an larger auditorium type room where presentations will be made by each group and members of the Congressional staffs. Afterwards, you can stay and visit the information tables again and talk to the staffers.
I would think you could come and stay as long as you can and then leave.
