Engineering School Rankings - hard to compare

DS is a junior and would like to go AF, either at USAFA or through ROTC, and would like to major in Aeronautical Engineering (he says; the world can be very clear at 16!). Looking strictly at academics, I'm curious how the engineering programs at USAFA and USNA rank compared to other engineering programs. I have tried looking at rankings, but since the academies do not have graduate programs I can never find them on the same lists with other schools he is investigating (VT and GT specifically); even when ranking undergraduate programs they have separate lists for undergrad schools with or without grad programs. Can anyone speak to how the academics compare or provide a link that would have these schools on the same list?

Aero Engineering is more difficult to find rankings. AF and Navy are in the top ten with MIT, CalTech, GT, Purdue, Illinois, Michigan and Maryland. Count astronauts' alma maters.

Most "top ten" lists are of dubious value. For example, most omit Berkeley, Duke, UCLA, Stanford, Princeton (which has a great aerospace engineering program), etc. If your son is certain that he will stop with his B.S., he is more limited in choices. If he contemplates a Masters, he increases his options as he wouldn't necessarily need an aerospace degree as an undergrad. It's hard to go wrong with any of the schools you mentioned. Once in a solid program, too many other variables come into play that determine future success rather than the school's ranking, for example, as #3 versus #12.
