So I have read a lot about how people hear about their AFA appointments, mostly seems like they get an email in the morning that there is a portal change, then when they go in the portal they see a congratulations. Have heard of some who received a phone call from their senator the night before? Can we hear feed back on this?

We were contacted by the MOC's office early afternoon, then the MOC contacted DD early evening on a Thursday, 25 Feb.
DD said she had an email and portal update the same day, but DD also said the email/portal update was on the 26th. So, not sure if she was just too excited to realize the date differences or what. I have a difficult time believing she missed or ignored an email in the morning on the 25th.

We received an e mail with notice saying our portal had an update and it showed the appointment. Our MOC never called us.

My DDs TWE came on the afternoon of April 10 last year as did many others. Good news comes early....bad news comes late???

Yes, this seems to be the case. April starts rejections. Prepping my DD for the decision.

My DD received an email to check portal very early, 0530, as there was new information about her appointment. We never got a call from any MOC only a letter and certificate a few weeks after her portal update.

The processing may be extended past the normal timeline a bit this year, we hope.

Our DS got a call from the MOC at the end of the school day letting him know the appointment was coming and it was sent the next morning. It seems the notice comes early, but the way it is delivered varies by state.

When my son applied, he had both a congressional and senatorial nomination and didn't hear a peep from either of them. An email was sent notifying him that his portal was updated. I do recall applicants hearing in May and June during his application cycle. You aren't out of the running until you receive a rejection notice. If you haven't heard anything, then there is still opportunity. Good luck!
