Okay...so I have no idea of WHEN DS will be attending CIET this summer, but I do know that we are going to try to attend the family day and graduation.

Anybody have good info on lodging and things to do in the Fort Knox / Louisville area?

Tripadvisor and Yelp can only do so much. o_O

City Taste Tours in Louisville. We had a great time with the food and knowledge of Louisville. Baseball, Churchill Downs, historic neighborhoods and sites, Food.....The ladies that run it are great. They have a 16 (or so) passenger bus and our group included 86 year old Grandma, 14 year old boy, 24 year old girl, and mom. Everyone found things to enjoy in the tour.

Not part of the tour - The Mary Hadley Pottery factory visit is great too if you like that sort of thing. There is a very expensive hat shop in that neighborhood too. You can see some of the Kentucky Derby hat options for men and women.

Ft Knox area....not so much.

Sorry Gokings. I can't suggest any sites though it seems just yesterday at the Kentucky Derby when those very nice police officers escorted a few of us Vandy boys past the high barb wire fence surrounding the infield at Churchill Downs- and all the finely dressed people with their pretty hats- pointed us south to the Tennessee State line and told us never come back to Kentucky…ever.

@Wilco

Uhhh...apparently these fine deputies at Churchill Downs are STILL lookin' for all you Vandy boys....ya heah?

Gokings you found an actual picture of me at the time wearing the blanket, commonly known as a "horse's __ss." Hope I have gotten better.

Mammoth Caves is about 1 hour 1/2 South of Louisville. Pretty neat trip if you have the time, and you like geology.

Wilco thanks for the prompt -

gokings814 - The highlight of the trip for the 14 year old was underground ziplining. http://www.louisvillemegacavern.com/ The cave tour was great too.

Does anybody know the beginning and end dates of the CLC and/or CIET Regiments for 2016? (Looking specifically for info about various Family Days and graduation ceremonies for our Facebook group.)
